The Dark Web is not for the faint of heart. Many legally skewed activities can happen there, but mostly do not affect the average citizen. However, there are threats the brew in the Dark Web that are coming to light.
Two vendors on AlphaBay, a new Dark Web marketplace, are selling thousands of active Uber accounts. The price of a single username and password? A whopping dollar. This might also include partial credit card data, phone numbers, email addresses, and other personal information. More troubling is that Uber hasn’t found any evidence of a data breach. This goes to show that care must be taken on the consumers’ end regarding who they share their information with.
