Research has shown that more companies are investing in security than ever before. In the wake of stories of major retailers, banks, and even film distributors being hacked, the need of cybersecurity is the highest it has ever been. Sadly, just because security technology has been purchased, it doesn’t mean they’ve become safer.
Companies purchase the proper equipment and software, but too many of them underutilize the full potent of their purchases and don’t take time to educate their employees or IT team to run them thoroughly. There is also a false sense of security when making such a purchase since hackers will eventually find ways around a system if it hasn’t been frequently updated. In other words, money can’t buy protection without follow-through. For more on security software that’s being put to waste, click here:: A Lot of Security Purchases Remain Shelfware
