Following their massive data breach that compromised the personal information of over 80 million people, Anthem has turned down an audit of its systems from the Office of the Personnel Management’s Office of Inspector General. The audit would test and scan Anthem’s system for vulnerabilities. It is unknown to the OIG as to why Anthem would refuse to cooperate. Xiaomi Mi 4 Smartphone Shipped with Pre-Installed Malware
The third largest smartphone distributor in in the world, Xiaomi, has been found spreading malware in its latest Android smartphone. The Xiaomi Mi4 LTE has been shipped with pre-loaded spyware/adware and an uncertified, vulnerable version of the Android operating system. Three Charged for Theft of One Billion Email Addresses
Viet Quoc Nguyen, Giang Hoang Vu, and David-Manuel Santos Da Silva were charged for hacking U.S. email service providers and using stolen email addresses to spam nearly a billion users. Vu was arrested back in 2012 and plead guilty last month. Da Silva is scheduled to be arraigned before a judge. Vu is still at large. It has been revealed that when she was secretary of state, Hillary Rodham Clinton’s emails were being used on a private account and computer server traced back to her family’s home in Chappaqua, New York.
