AT&T: “No More Tracking Customer Data.â€
AT&T recently announced that they were phasing out the use of tracking information on its customers’ mobile phones in order to help advertisers. AT&T stated that the data derived from ‘perma-cookies’ was part of a test. While the company might implement this program again in the future, customers will be given the option to opt out. Researchers’ Test Makes Contact On Contactless Credit Cards
Newcastle University in the U.K. recently discovered a security flaw within Visa contactless credit cards. With just a mobile phone, the researchers created a PoS terminal that could read cards through wallets and purses. Afterward, transactions can be valued up to 999,999.99 in any foreign currency. Mac OS X, iOS Compromised by WireLurker
A recently discovered malware dubbed WireLurker has been found targeting both Mac OS X computers and Apple iOS devices. After infecting a Mac OS X comp, the malware can infect iPhones and iPads via USB connection. The goal of the malware has yet to be uncovered, but it so far has been found in 467 OS X applications on China’s third-party Maiyadi App Store.
