Lizard Squad claimed responsibility for knocking out Microsoft’s X-Box Live and Sony’s Playstation Network offline on Christmas day. The group then offered its hacking service for hire. Mariott went under fire when a customer cited them to the FCC in 2013. In this case, blocking personal Wi-Fi violated Section 333 of the Communications Act. Samy Kamkar, a hardware hacker and security researcher, created a new device that looks like a typical USB wall charger, but in reality houses a keylogger capable of recording keystrokes from nearby wireless keyboards.
