Lenovo’s ‘Superfish’ Compromised Security for Ads
Numerous customers lashed out against Lenovo for installing hidden adware in their laptops and PCs that injected ads onto browsers. According to documents from Edward Snowden, England’s electronic spying agency teamed up with the U.S. National Security Agency to hack and steal codes that allowed both governments to spy on mobile phones worldwide. Suspected Breach Shuts Down Bitcoin Operation
After hackers managed to compromise its systems, Canadian Bitcoin exchange Cavirtex is shutting down. It has been reported that hackers obtained hashed passwords and two-factor authentication secrets that compromised Cavirtex’s data and operations. Cavirtex will allow trading until March 20, 2015 and will allow withdrawals until March 25th when it will permanently close up shop.
